Corrections

What we got wrong, and when we fixed it.

Material corrections to a published figure, fee, eligibility detail or recommendation are logged here permanently. The page corrected, the original value, and the corrected value — every time.

Last updated 11 June 2026 Editorial standards

The standard

If we publish a figure that turns out to be wrong, we fix the page, refresh its Last verified stamp, and add an entry to this log. The log is permanent — corrections do not vanish from the record once the page is fixed.

Material corrections include: any monetary figure (annual fee, FX fee, welcome bonus value, salary band), any eligibility detail (minimum salary, salary-transfer requirement, residency rule), and any recommendation reversal (e.g. moving a card off our "best of" list because new information surfaced).

Typo fixes, layout changes, and routine updates to refresh-stamped figures (where the bank changed the value, not us) are not logged here — those happen continuously and the editorial policy covers the verification cadence.

Recent corrections

11 June 2026 — ENBD Darna partner network (3 cards)

Original: our reviews of the Darna Select, Darna Signature and Darna Infinite described the cards' 10%/7.5%/6.25% partner earn as applying at Emaar destinations — Dubai Mall, Address hotels, Reel Cinemas — and recommended them to Dubai-based Emaar spenders.

Corrected: Darna is Aldar's loyalty programme. The partner earn applies at Aldar destinations — Yas Mall, Yas Island theme parks, Aldar hotels, spas and golf courses in Abu Dhabi — per the Emirates NBD product pages, verified 11 June 2026. All three reviews were rewritten the same day; the cards are now framed for Aldar-community residents and Yas Island regulars, which is who they actually serve. The Darna Infinite's fee break-even was also corrected from "roughly AED 15,000 a month" of partner spend to roughly AED 1,300 a month — the original figure misread an annual threshold as monthly.

29 May 2026 — ADCB foreign-currency fee (10 cards)

Original: we listed the foreign-currency transaction fee on ten ADCB cards as 0.525%, and the ADCB Essential Cashback review promoted that figure as a reason to get the card.

Corrected: the published fee is 2.99%, per the ADCB Schedule of Fees Ver.46 (February 2026). The 0.525% figure was ADCB's charge for cash deposits and withdrawals in foreign currency — a different line in the same fee schedule — picked up in error by our data pipeline. All ten card pages were corrected the same day, and the Essential Cashback review's argument was rebuilt around the true cost of overseas spend. The ADCB Traveller, which genuinely carries 0% FX, was unaffected.
