The FAB Elite is First Abu Dhabi Bank’s flagship lifestyle Mastercard, built around a luxury-spend earn boost and the ADV+ lifestyle programme. It sits at the top of FAB’s salary-transfer funnel and is positioned for residents willing to move primary banking to FAB.
- Annual fee
- AED 1,260 incl. VAT
- Min salary
- AED 40,000/mo
Pros
- 20 FAB Rewards per AED 1 at luxury merchants (Hermes, Cartier, Harrods, etc.), capped at 200,000 Rewards/month
- ADV+ lifestyle programme — 60+ beach clubs and gyms, hotel-restaurant discounts, BOGO cinema, free valet — at AED 10,000+ monthly spend
- Free worldwide airport lounge access via Mastercard + DragonPass
- 24/7 lifestyle concierge plus 6 free Careem airport rides per year
- 10 FAB Rewards per AED 1 at eco-tagged merchants — a real point of difference vs other premium UAE lifestyle cards
Cons
- AED 40,000/month minimum salary excludes most mass-affluent residents
- Salary transfer is mandatory — relationship lock-in for the card's tenure
- 1 FAB Reward per AED 1 on base spend is uncompetitive; the card's value sits in luxury / eco multipliers most cardholders never reach
- Most ADV+ lifestyle perks (valet, BOGO cinema, beach clubs) gate on AED 10,000+ monthly spend on top of the salary bar
- AED 1,260 annual fee has no published spend-waiver path
Earn rates
The earn structure is bifurcated — a soft 1 FAB Reward per AED 1 base, with two large multipliers stacked on top for the niche spend categories FAB has designed the card around:
The headline numbers live outside the base earn:
- 20 FAB Rewards per AED 1 on luxury-tagged merchants (Hermes, Cartier, Harrods and the rest of FAB’s luxury network). Capped at 200,000 Rewards/month — i.e. AED 10,000 of monthly luxury spend before the multiplier stops paying.
- 10 FAB Rewards per AED 1 on eco-tagged merchants under FAB’s sustainability programme. No published per-category cap; counts against the 500,000 Rewards/month overall ceiling.
- 1 FAB Reward per AED 1 on everything else — the base rate.
For comparison, a typical UAE travel-rewards Visa earns 2x AED on partner spend. The Elite’s 1x base is materially below that; the card recovers value only when you actually hit the luxury or eco multipliers.
Fee summary
There is no published annual-fee waiver path on the Elite, so the AED 1,260 applies every year regardless of card spend. The 2.49% FX markup is in line with FAB’s premium Mastercard range.
ADV+ lifestyle programme — what gates on AED 10,000 monthly spend
A significant share of the Elite’s perks live inside the ADV+ app and only activate while you’re maintaining AED 10,000+ in monthly card spend (otherwise FAB charges AED 300/month for ADV+ access):
- Free access to 60+ beach clubs, gyms and sports centres across the UAE
- Up to 40% off the top hotel-group restaurants in the UAE
- Free 1-hour valet parking at six premium UAE locations — Mall of the Emirates, City Walk, Dubai Mall, Yas Mall, Al Qana, Dubai Hills Mall — five times per month
- Buy-one-get-one + AED 20 cinema tickets at Reel, Royal, Star, VOX — eight tickets per month
- 24/7 lifestyle concierge
The not-gated lifestyle perks (those you keep regardless of monthly spend) are thinner:
- 20% off Emaar attractions (KidZania, Dubai Aquarium, The Storm Coaster, Zabeel Sports District) and Dubai Holding attractions (Wild Wadi, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Burj Al Arab Inside, The Green Planet, The View at the Palm)
- 30% off golf worldwide via Mastercard’s Thriwe-powered golf programme
- Free worldwide airport lounge access via Mastercard + DragonPass
- 3 complimentary airport security fast-track passes per year (Europe, Turkey, Asia)
- 6 free Careem airport rides per year
Perks worth using
The Elite’s fee recovers through the ADV+ programme and the luxury-spend multiplier, not the everyday earn. We’ve put a per-benefit Value to me on each so the maths against the AED 1,260 sticker fee (and the AED 3,600/year ADV+ fall-back charge if you slip the AED 10,000 spend gate) is visible:
20x luxury-spend multiplier
20 FAB Rewards per AED 1 at Hermes, Cartier, Harrods and the rest of the luxury network, capped at 200,000 Rewards/month — i.e. AED 10,000 of monthly luxury spend before the multiplier stops paying. At the FAB Rewards Shop redemption rate of roughly AED 0.02 per Reward (200,000 Rewards = ~AED 4,000), that’s an effective 40% return on the first AED 10,000 of luxury spend each month. Heavy month at the cap: Value to me: AED 4,000/month — ~AED 48,000/year if a reader genuinely clears the cap every month, which almost no one does. A more realistic two-cap-month-a-year shopper (Hermes scarves at Boxing Day and DSF): Value to me: AED 8,000/year. State your own luxury cadence honestly and re-do the line.
ADV+ beach clubs and gyms
60+ UAE venues — Cove Beach, Drift, Soul Cycle, Warehouse Gym and the rest. A single Cove Beach day pass at peak runs AED 350–500; a routine gym membership at one of the listed chains is AED 600–800/month. One day-pass a month plus two gym sessions on weeks you’d otherwise pay day-rates: Value to me: AED 4,800/year for the beach-club regular. Light user (four beach-club days a year, no gym): AED 1,400/year. Gates on AED 10,000+ monthly spend.
ADV+ BOGO cinema
8 tickets/month at Reel, Royal, Star and VOX at the BOGO + AED 20 rate. UAE cinema sits at AED 45–55; the BOGO + AED 20 mechanic costs roughly AED 70 for two tickets versus AED 90–110 standalone, saving AED 20–40 per pair. Four cinema pairs a month at AED 30 average saving: Value to me: AED 1,440/year for routine cinemagoers. Two pairs a month: AED 720/year. Gates on AED 10,000+ monthly spend.
ADV+ valet parking
5 valet sessions per month across Mall of the Emirates, City Walk, Dubai Mall, Yas Mall, Al Qana and Dubai Hills Mall. Paid valet at these venues runs AED 50–100 per session. Two sessions a month at AED 75 average: Value to me: AED 1,800/year for the Dubai Mall regular. One session a month: AED 900/year. Gates on AED 10,000+ monthly spend.
ADV+ hotel-restaurant discounts
Up to 40% off restaurants inside Jumeirah, Marriott and Atlantis properties via ADV+. On AED 800 of monthly hotel-restaurant spend at 30% effective discount: Value to me: AED 2,880/year. Light user (one AED 600 dinner a quarter at 30% off): Value to me: AED 720/year.
Worldwide airport lounge access
Mastercard + DragonPass, no published cap on visits. At an AED 200 walk-in equivalent per visit, four trips a year with one guest: Value to me: AED 1,600/year. Heavy traveller working two trips a quarter with a partner: AED 3,200/year.
6 free Careem airport rides
DXB-to-home Careem trips run AED 80–140 depending on zone. Six rides at AED 110 average: Value to me: AED 660/year if you’d otherwise book paid airport transfers.
3 airport fast-track passes
Europe, Turkey and Asia security fast-track via the Mastercard programme. Walk-in fast-track at the major European hubs runs EUR 15–25 per use (~AED 60–100). Three passes: Value to me: AED 200–300/year — modest, but useful on the right itinerary.
10x eco-merchant earn
10 FAB Rewards per AED 1 at FAB’s eco-tagged merchant list (not published in full). At AED 0.02 per Reward, that’s 20% effective return on eco spend. Light user (AED 500/month of eco-tagged spend): Value to me: AED 1,200/year. The eco-merchant list is narrow and not published in full — verify your routine merchants are on it before modelling.
For an Elite holder clearing the AED 10,000 spend gate and using the ADV+ stack routinely — lounge, four cinema pairs, two beach-club days, two valet sessions, modest hotel-restaurant spend, four lounge visits — the perk package alone returns ~AED 12,000/year against the AED 1,260 fee. Add even a modest two-cap-months of luxury spend at 20x and the headline doubles. Below the AED 10,000 spend gate, the ADV+ perks lock out, FAB charges AED 300/month to keep ADV+ active, and the year-one math runs AED 1,260 fee + AED 3,600 ADV+ continuity = AED 4,860 of cost against only the non-gated stack (lounge ~AED 1,600, Careem ~AED 660, fast-track ~AED 250, eco ~AED 1,200) of roughly AED 3,700 — the card runs at a loss until you push spend above the gate.
Key conditions to know
- Eligibility
- AED 40,000/month minimum salary with mandatory salary transfer to FAB. The card sits at the top of the FAB salary-transfer funnel; leaving FAB during the offer tenure triggers clawback under standard salary-transfer T&Cs. The exact clawback formula and offer-tenure window vary by campaign — request the current schedule from FAB before committing.
- ADV+ access fee
- The ADV+ lifestyle programme is free with the card while you maintain AED 10,000+ in monthly spend. Drop below that and FAB charges AED 300/month for ADV+ continuity. Cinema, valet and beach-club perks live exclusively inside ADV+.
- Earn caps
- Overall ceiling 500,000 FAB Rewards/month across all categories. Luxury-spend earn capped separately at 200,000 Rewards/month — equivalent to AED 10,000 of monthly luxury spend at the 20x rate.
- Travel protections
- Travel medical insurance up to USD 500,000; travel inconvenience insurance; rental Collision & Loss Damage Waiver up to USD 50,000. Insurance is via Mastercard’s premium-tier benefit set, not a FAB-specific programme.
- Welcome bonus
- FAB does not currently publish a stable welcome-bonus structure for the Elite that we have been able to verify against the issuer’s product page. Any 500,000-Rewards or gift-card promotional offer should be checked directly with FAB before applying. The “Gold gift on AED 500,000+ annual spend” perk listed in FAB’s marketing materials is an ongoing-spend reward, not a welcome bonus.
FAB Elite vs FAB Cashback
| FAB Elite Credit Card | FAB Cashback Card | |

| Minimum salary Min salary | AED 40,000/mo | AED 5,000/mo ↗ |
| Top earn rate Top earn rate | — | Dining 5% ↗ |

| Lounge access Lounge access | None | None |
The Cashback is the natural counter to the Elite at FAB: a much lower salary bar (AED 5,000), much lower fee, and a flat 5% cashback on dining, shopping and supermarkets that the Elite’s 1x base earn can’t match. Move up to the Elite only when your luxury or ADV+ spend justifies the gating thresholds.
Watch out for
- Salary-transfer lock-in. Mandatory transfer to FAB is the price of admission. Plan the exit before the entry — switching primary banking inside the offer tenure can trigger clawback.
- ADV+ continuity has a real cost. Slip under AED 10,000 of monthly spend and FAB charges AED 300/month to keep ADV+ active — up to AED 3,600/year on top of the AED 1,260 sticker fee.
- Base earn is weak. 1x on everyday spend is below where premium UAE travel-rewards cards sit (typically 2x). If most of your spend isn’t luxury or eco, the Elite earns less than lower-fee alternatives.
- The eco multiplier is narrow. FAB’s eco-tagged merchant list is not published in full; verify your routine merchants are on it before modelling the 10x boost into the math.
Is it worth it?
For the FAB customer who’s at AED 40,000+ monthly salary, already moving salary to FAB (or willing to), spending AED 10,000+ a month on the card, AND routing a meaningful share of that through either luxury merchants or the ADV+ lifestyle perks — the Elite pays back. The 20x luxury earn at the cap is ~AED 4,000 in Rewards value per month against AED 10,000 of luxury spend; the ADV+ valet, beach-club and BOGO cinema perks together easily recover the AED 1,260 fee inside a year if used routinely.
Below those thresholds the math collapses. At base earn the card pays 1 FAB Reward per AED 1 — below most UAE travel-rewards cards. ADV+ gates lock the lifestyle perks behind AED 10,000 monthly spend. The salary bar excludes most mass-affluent residents.
A reasonable break-even rule: AED 40,000+ monthly salary, AED 10,000+ routine card spend, with a clear plan to route at least AED 5,000/month of that through ADV+ perks or luxury merchants.
Bottom line
A premium lifestyle Mastercard with two stand-out earn boosts and a rich ADV+ perk set — but only for residents already inside FAB’s high-salary funnel who’ll actively work the multipliers and the ADV+ app. Apply if your salary clears AED 40,000/month and you’ll spend AED 10,000+ monthly with luxury or ADV+ routing. Move down to the FAB Cashback if you won’t meet either gate — the Cashback’s 5% on dining and supermarkets earns more on everyday spend than the Elite does, at a fraction of the fee.
