Pros

  • 2 Skywards Miles per USD 1 on Emirates, flydubai, duty free, online food delivery and car-booking apps

Cons

  • AED 1,575 annual fee from year two unless you clear AED 100,000 spend
  • AED 30,000/month minimum salary excludes most early-career expats
  • AED 3,148.95 joining fee in year one — recovered by the welcome bonus only if you trigger it
  • Earn rates are quoted per USD 1 spent — the AED-equivalent rate is lower than the bank's marketing makes it look
  • Skywards devaluations have been frequent — earn rate may not survive a programme refresh

Earn rates

Earn rates are credited as Skywards Miles per USD 1 of eligible spend (USD 1 ≈ AED 3.67; 2 miles per USD on partner categories works out to roughly 0.54 miles per AED 1):

Welcome bonus breakdown

Headline value sits around AED 2,000 at our 2 fils-per-mile baseline; a single Y-to-J upgrade on a regional sector lifts the effective rate higher.

What you get — per-benefit value

Per the 2 fils-per-mile baseline we use for every UAE Skywards co-brand review. Add the numbers up against the AED 1,575 year-two fee.

Welcome bonus

100,000 Skywards Miles on the first AED 100,000 of spend within the welcome window. Value to me: AED 2,000 at the 2-fil baseline — clears the AED 1,575 year-two fee with change, but covers under two-thirds of the AED 3,149 joining fee on its own; the year-one case needs the rest of the package. A single Y-to-J upgrade redemption can deliver materially more (see the methodology note on the Skywards programme overview).

Visa Airport Companion lounge access

Unlimited cardholder visits + 1 guest at 1,000+ lounges worldwide including DXB, AUH, LHR. At an AED 200 walk-in equivalent per visit: Value to me: AED 2,400/year for a regular flyer (six trips with a guest); AED 800/year for a two-trip-a-year traveller.

Year-one Skywards Silver status

Priority check-in, extra baggage allowance, lounge access on Skywards flights, tier miles toward Gold. We value this at one free checked bag per trip on flights you’d otherwise pay for. Value to me: AED 200–400/year for two-to-four flown trips. Lost from year two unless you re-qualify on flown tier miles — so this is a year-one figure, not perpetual.

Earn on AED 100,000 of card spend

Base earn is 1 mile per USD 1 (≈ 0.27 miles per AED 1), so AED 100,000 of everyday spend earns ~27,000 Miles. At the 2-fil baseline: Value to me: roughly AED 550/year on the base earn — up to about AED 1,100/year if most of your spend lands on the 2× categories (Emirates, flydubai, dining, Skywards Plus partners), which earn ~0.54 miles per AED 1.

Express Miles add-on (optional, AED 250 + 5% VAT/month)

50% more miles on non-Emirates spend. At AED 8,000/month of non-Emirates spend (≈ USD 2,180), the lift is ~1,090 extra miles a month — about AED 22 of value at the baseline, against AED 262.50 of monthly cost. Value to me: clearly negative. Break-even at the 2-fil baseline needs roughly AED 96,000 of non-Emirates spend per month; skip it unless you consistently redeem far above baseline.

For a UAE reader clearing AED 100,000+ on the card who flies four trips a year, year one sums to roughly AED 4,000–4,500 at the baseline (welcome + lounge + Silver + earn) against the AED 3,149 joining fee — comfortably positive, and materially more if the welcome bonus lands on a Y-to-J upgrade. From year two the package is lounge plus earn: roughly AED 2,000–2,700 against the AED 1,575 renewal. Positive, but it is the lounge access doing the work, not the earn rate.

Key conditions to know

Lounge access
Visa Airport Companion App, not Priority Pass. Unlimited at 1,000+ lounges worldwide for cardholder + 1 guest; includes DXB, AUH, major hubs.
Skywards status
Silver tier upgrade for the welcome window — priority check-in, extra baggage, tier miles toward Gold. Lost from year two unless you re-qualify on flown tier miles.
Express Miles add-on
Optional AED 250 + 5% VAT/month earns 50% more miles on non-Emirates spend and replaces the annual fee in months it’s active.
Salary transfer
Not strictly required at AED 30,000/month, but improves approval odds. ENBD typically asks for 3 months of payslips + a stamped salary certificate — see the salary-transfer tracker.
Fee waiver mechanics
AED 100,000 is cumulative annual, not per statement. Resets each card anniversary. ENBD applies the waiver retroactively — the fee posts and is reversed, not skipped at the threshold.

The Infinite makes the most sense if both conditions hold: you’ll trigger the year-one bonus quickly and you’ll spend AED 100,000+ a year on the card ongoing. Otherwise the Signature carries lower fee risk for a similar earn profile.

Watch out for

  • Devaluation risk. Skywards has repriced the partner award chart twice in five years. Keep a redemption goal close at hand rather than banking miles long-term
  • Lounge provider. Visa Airport Companion, not Priority Pass. Coverage is strong in the Gulf, Asia, and most of Europe; double-check less-trafficked regional airports
  • Status match expires. Silver in year one is generous; you lose it in year two unless your flown tier miles re-qualify you
  • Spend-waiver cliff. Slipping under AED 100,000 in any year reinstates the AED 1,575 charge — model your year-two and year-three spend before applying
  • Wrong carrier? If you fly Etihad more than Emirates, the Etihad Guest Inspire or FAB Etihad Guest Infinite carry lower fees and similar earn rates on the Abu Dhabi carrier

Bottom line

For frequent Emirates flyers spending AED 100,000 or more on the card each year, the Infinite pays back inside year one — but it takes the full package to do it: the 100,000-mile welcome bonus is worth AED 2,000 at our 2 fils-per-mile baseline — roughly two-thirds of the AED 3,149 joining fee — and the lounge access and Silver status close the gap. The spend-waiver clears the AED 1,575 renewal from year two, and 2 miles per USD on Emirates, flydubai, duty free, and food delivery compounds faster than any other UAE-issued Visa on those categories.

Below AED 100,000 of annual spend the math tightens — the renewal posts in full each year and the Signature earns enough on the same categories to make the fee gap hard to justify. A working break-even rule: AED 100,000+ annual spend with at least one Y-to-J Emirates upgrade booked from the welcome bonus inside year one. Outside that profile, take the Signature.
