The Emirates NBD U by Emaar Infinite (for Emiratis) is a UAE-national-only variant of the bank’s co-branded Visa Infinite. The earn structure mirrors the open Infinite — 7.5% back as UPoints on Emaar venues, 1.5% on everything else — but the price of entry is materially lower: AED 1,575 a year with no joining fee, against AED 2,625 joining plus AED 1,575 renewal on the version available to all residents.
- Annual fee
- AED 1,575 incl. VAT
- Min salary
- AED 30,000/mo
- Welcome bonus
- 25k U Points
Pros
- 7.5% UPoints on all Emaar spends — Dubai Mall, Address, Rove, Vida, Emaar F&B
- No joining fee — saves AED 2,625 versus the open Infinite in year one
- Automatic U by Emaar Platinum status with suite upgrades, F&B discounts and entertainment access
- Visa Infinite chrome — Visa Airport Companion lounge access, concierge, travel insurance
Cons
- Salary transfer to Emirates NBD required — clawback applies on early exit
- 1.5% on non-Emaar spend is only marginally above the ENBD Plus Points base
- UPoints redeem only within Emaar's 2,500+ partner outlets — no airline or hotel transfers
- AED 1,575 annual still requires meaningful Emaar spend to repay
Earn rates
All earn rates are expressed as % back in UPoints, redeemable across Emaar’s 2,500+ partner outlets — not as airline miles or transferable points:
Fee summary
The card carries an AED 1,575 annual fee (inclusive of VAT) with no joining fee — a meaningful gap against the open Infinite’s AED 2,625 joining
- AED 1,575 renewal. The foreign-currency fee is 1.99%, in line with the UAE Visa Infinite segment. Interest is 3.25% per month (about 39% APR) on any revolved balance — clear the statement in full each month and the interest is irrelevant.
What you get — per-benefit value
ENBD quotes the earn as a percentage back in UPoints, so we take the percentages at face value; the points-denominated welcome converts at the 2-fils-per-UPoint baseline we use across U by Emaar reviews. The fee to beat is AED 1,575 a year, with no joining fee.
Welcome bonus
Up to 25,000 UPoints inside the 90-day qualifying window. Value to me: AED 500, one-time at the 2-fil UPoint baseline — captive to the Emaar ecosystem, and a third of the first year’s fee, not a fee-eraser. Re-confirm the first-year-free campaign at application; if it’s live, year one’s maths improves by the full AED 1,575.
7.5% UPoints on Emaar venues
Value to me: AED 2,700/year on AED 3,000 a month of genuine Emaar spend (Dubai Mall retail, Emaar F&B, Reel tickets); AED 1,350/year at AED 1,500 a month. Paid as captive UPoints. The fee break-even sits at AED 21,000 a year of Emaar spend on this line alone.
1.5% UPoints on everything else
Value to me: AED 540/year on AED 3,000 a month of general spend — but that’s captive currency at a rate a flat AED-cashback card matches in open money. Route general spend elsewhere; treat this line as AED 0 in practice.
U by Emaar Platinum status — 20% off Emaar Hospitality F&B and spas
Value to me: AED 1,200/year on AED 500 a month of Emaar Hospitality dining you’d be doing anyway (the discount stacks on top of the 7.5% earn on the same bill). The suite upgrades (capped at 7 nights a year) and up-to-30% entertainment discounts are availability- and utilisation-dependent with no published price baseline — AED 0 unless used, real when they land.
Reel Cinemas BOGO
Up to 3 free tickets (6 in total) per month, conditional on AED 5,000 minimum monthly card spend, online booking only. At the AED 40–50 typical ticket: Value to me: AED 480–600/year on one paired visit a month; up to roughly AED 1,400–1,800/year at the full 3-ticket monthly cap — provided the spend condition is met every month.
Visa Infinite chrome
Visa Airport Companion lounge access at 1,000+ lounges. At the AED 200 walk-in equivalent: Value to me: AED 800/year on four flown visits. Concierge, Grand Drive valet at Dubai Mall and travel insurance carry no published price baseline — AED 0 unless used.
Total package: an Emaar-centred Emirati household — AED 3,000 a month of Emaar spend, AED 500 a month of Emaar Hospitality dining, a monthly Reel pairing, four lounge visits — collects roughly AED 5,200–5,300/year against the AED 1,575 fee, plus AED 500 of welcome in year one. Drop the Emaar spend to AED 1,500 a month and the package falls to roughly AED 3,800/year — still ahead, but the margin is now mostly discounts and lounge rather than earn. Outside the Emaar footprint the package collapses to the 1.5% line and the fee is not recovered.
Key conditions to know
- UPoints earn structure
- 7.5% back as UPoints on Emaar venues — Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Address Hotels, Rove Hotels, Vida Hotels and Emaar F&B (including Atmosphere and Thiptara). 1.5% back as UPoints on all other spend. UPoints redeem instantly at 2,500+ Emaar partner outlets; they are not transferable to airline or hotel programmes.
- Welcome bonus
- Up to 25,000 UPoints inside a 90-day qualifying window from card activation. First-year-free positioning at our last verification — re-confirm the current campaign before applying.
- Eligibility — UAE nationals only
- This variant is restricted to UAE nationals. Minimum salary AED 30,000 a month, salary transfer to Emirates NBD required. Salaried applicants. Documentation: completed application, Emirates ID and copy, passport copy, latest salary certificate (not more than one month old), three months’ bank statements, security cheque.
- U by Emaar Platinum status
- Automatic on card activation. Includes suite upgrades on Emaar hotel stays (Address, Vida, Rove — capped at 7 nights per year), 20% off Emaar Hospitality F&B and spas, and up to 30% off Emaar Entertainment venues (Dubai Underwater Zoo, KidZania, Dubai Ice Rink).
- Reel Cinemas BOGO
- Buy-one-get-one-free movie tickets at Reel Cinemas with free soft drink and popcorn, conditional on AED 5,000 minimum monthly card spend. Maximum 3 free tickets (6 in total) per calendar month. Online booking only.
- Visa Infinite chrome
- Visa Airport Companion lounge access (1,000+ lounges), 24/7 concierge, complimentary Grand Drive valet at Dubai Mall (Galeries Lafayette and The Souk), travel insurance and 0% Easy Payment Plans at Apple, Carrefour, Emirates, Amazon and Fitness First.
- Foreign-currency fee
- 1.99% on every non-AED transaction. Not a zero-FX travel card.
Watch out for
- Salary-transfer clawback. ENBD requires salary transfer at AED 30,000 a month and applies a standard clawback if you exit the relationship inside the offer tenure. If you might change job or leave the UAE within the next twelve months, the welcome bonus and waiver economics may not survive the exit. Read the clawback clause before signing.
- UPoints redeem only inside the Emaar ecosystem. No airline transfers, no hotel-programme conversion, no clean cashback escape. If your travel ambitions sit outside Emaar’s footprint, a Skywards or hotel-co-brand card carries more redemption optionality.
- 1.5% on non-Emaar is thin. Only marginally above the ENBD Plus Points base. Treat this as a single-purpose Emaar-spend card, not an everyday earner; pair with a stronger flat-rate cashback card for non-Emaar spend.
- The break-even still has to be earned. AED 21,000 a month of qualifying Emaar spend is lower than the open Infinite’s threshold, but it is not trivial. Run a twelve-month audit of your real Emaar spend before applying.
Bottom line
The better-priced version of ENBD’s U by Emaar Infinite, restricted to UAE nationals earning AED 30,000+ a month. For the household whose discretionary spend lives inside the Emaar footprint — Dubai Mall regulars, Address loyalists, families routing their dining and weekend entertainment through the Emaar list — the absence of the AED 2,625 joining fee meaningfully changes the maths, and the Visa Infinite chrome and automatic U by Emaar Platinum status round out the proposition. Apply if you qualify and your Emaar spend is real. Skip if your spend sits outside the Emaar list, if the salary-transfer commitment to ENBD does not fit the wider relationship, or if your twelve-month employment horizon makes salary-transfer clawback a live risk.
