Emirates NBD Etihad Guest Visa Elevate review (June 2026) | DubaiPoints

Welcome bonus 200,000 Etihad Guest Miles

The Emirates NBD Etihad Guest Visa Elevate is the middle rung in ENBD’s Etihad co-brand ladder, sitting between the AED 12,000-salary Inspire and the AED 30,000-salary FAB Etihad Guest Infinite from a competing issuer. It earns Etihad Guest Miles directly into the cardholder’s account at the AED 30,000 salary bar, with salary transfer required.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus large enough to cover a long-haul Business saver one-way with headroom to spare — and to clear the AED 2,625 joining fee on its own
  • 10 Etihad Guest Miles per AED 10 on Etihad airfare, hotels and dining — ahead of the 7 per AED 10 both the Inspire and the FAB Infinite pay, credited directly with no transfer step
  • 1.99% FX fee is below the 2.49% premium Visa Infinite norm in the UAE
  • Complimentary lounge access at 1,000+ lounges worldwide via the Visa Airport Companion app
  • 50% Etihad Guest Miles redemption-discount voucher per AED 150,000 spend

Cons

  • The "up to 6 Miles per AED 10 on all other spends" headline is an envelope, not a rate — international earns 3 per AED 10 and everything else 2, the weakest base earn of the three UAE Etihad co-brands
  • Salary transfer required at the AED 30,000 salary bar — Inspire and FAB Infinite waive that requirement
  • AED 2,625 joining fee in year one — AED 1,575 is the renewal fee, and no waiver is published for either
  • Tier Mile earn capped at the standard 2.5 per AED 10 — card spend cannot satisfy any Etihad Guest tier's from-flying floor
  • Etihad-loyal only; Dubai-based Skywards flyers earn far more per dirham on a Skywards co-brand

Fee summary

AED 1,575
incl. VAT
Annual fee
Joining fee AED 2,625 (year 1, incl. VAT)
FX +1.99%

Year one costs AED 2,625 — the joining fee, including VAT, per the ENBD product page and the May 2026 KFS. From renewal the fee drops to AED 1,575 a year. No waiver is published for either figure, so budget the higher number before applying. The 1.99% FX fee is below the 2.49% norm on most premium UAE Visa Infinite cards in market — useful for an expat whose foreign-currency spend is meaningful. Minimum salary is AED 30,000 a month and salary transfer is required — a material differentiator from both the ENBD Inspire (no transfer required, AED 12,000 salary bar) and the FAB Etihad Guest Infinite (no transfer required at the same salary bar).

What you get — per-benefit value

Per the 2 fils-per-mile baseline we use for every UAE Etihad Guest co-brand review — the same framework used for Skywards, applied symmetrically across the two UAE flag carriers. Add the numbers up against the AED 2,625 year-one joining fee and the AED 1,575 renewal fee thereafter.

Welcome bonus

Up to 200,000 Etihad Guest Miles on activation and qualifying spend — the largest welcome figure on any UAE-issued Etihad co-brand at our 11 June 2026 verification (the FAB Infinite’s limited-time offer runs to 110,000; the Inspire’s to 60,000). Value to me: AED 4,000 at the 2-fil baseline — which clears the AED 2,625 year-one joining fee on the welcome alone, with AED 1,375 of headroom before counting any earn or lounge value. Burnt on a long-haul Business saver one-way (AUH → JFK from ~88,000 Miles per the Etihad Guest sweet-spot list), the realised cash-fare value typically lands AED 8,000–14,000 against the same miles — but the cost-basis figure is the honest welcome-bonus framing for break-even math before applying.

Visa Airport Companion lounge access

Unlimited cardholder + 1 guest at 1,000+ lounges worldwide. At an AED 200 walk-in equivalent per visit: Value to me: AED 2,400/year for a regular flyer (six trips with a guest); AED 800/year for a two-trip-a-year traveller. Independent of Etihad Guest tier — useful on a non-Etihad sector where Gold lounge access wouldn’t apply.

50% redemption-cost voucher on AED 150,000 spend

A 50% discount voucher applied to a redemption-cost basis. Against a long-haul Business saver redemption (typically 88,000–120,000 Miles one-way), the voucher saves 44,000–60,000 Miles — at the 2-fil baseline, Value to me: AED 880–1,200/year if you clear AED 150,000 of spend and actually redeem for a Business sector. Worth zero if you don’t clear the threshold or don’t redeem.

Earn on AED 100,000 of card spend

At 10 Etihad Guest Miles per AED 10 on Etihad airfare, hotels and dining (1 Mile per AED 1 — about 2 fils of value per dirham at our baseline) and 2 per AED 10 on general spend (0.2 Miles per AED 1 — about 0.4 fils per dirham), a typical AED 100,000 mixed spend year (assume AED 25,000 Etihad/hotels/dining, AED 75,000 general) returns ~40,000 Miles. At the 2-fil baseline: Value to me: AED 800/year. The Etihad-ecosystem rate is the best of the three UAE Etihad co-brands, but the 0.2-Miles-per-AED base drags the blended return — the more your spend skews general, the more the Inspire’s 4 per AED 10 base out-earns it.

Year-one Etihad Guest tier status

No automatic tier upgrade comes with this card — Etihad Guest tier status from the Elevate is Value to me: AED 0/year. Honest line: if tier is what you want, the FAB Etihad Guest Infinite’s Gold-tier fast-track on one return flight is the relevant lever, not this card.

For an AED 30,000-salary holder who routes salary to ENBD, runs AED 100,000 a year through the card, and burns the 200,000-mile welcome on a long-haul Business one-way in year one, the total package delivers roughly AED 7,200–8,400 of value in year one (AED 4,000 welcome + AED 800 earn + AED 2,400 lounge for a regular flyer, plus the voucher only if you clear AED 150,000) against the AED 2,625 joining fee — the welcome alone covers the fee with AED 1,375 to spare. Steady state, the same profile returns roughly AED 1,600–3,200/year (earn plus lounge, voucher excluded) against AED 1,575 of renewal fee — comfortably positive for a regular flyer, marginal for a two-trip-a-year traveller.

Key conditions to know

Welcome bonus mechanics
Up to 200,000 Etihad Guest Miles on activation and qualifying spend per the ENBD product page. At Etihad’s published saver charts that’s enough for a long-haul Business one-way (AUH → JFK from ~88,000 miles per the Etihad Guest sweet-spot list) with substantial headroom remaining for a second redemption.
Redemption voucher
50% Etihad Guest Miles redemption-discount voucher on every AED 150,000 of annual spend — useful for stretching a long-haul Business redemption further if you hit the spend bar. The Inspire offers 25% on AED 100,000 and the FAB Infinite offers 75% on AED 200,000; the Elevate’s voucher sits in between on both rate and spend threshold.
Tier Mile earn
2.5 Etihad Tier Miles per AED 10 spent on all categories. Card spend cannot satisfy the from-flying minimum on any Etihad Guest tier (10,000 for Silver, 20,000 for Gold, 40,000 for Platinum) — see the Etihad Guest programme guide for the Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Emerald tier ladder.
Express Miles add-on
Optional opt-in at AED 250 a month earns 50% more miles across all categories. Adds AED 3,000 a year to the running cost — only pays back at sustained six-figure annual spend concentrated outside the Etihad partner categories.
Lounge access
Complimentary access to 1,000+ airport lounges worldwide via the Visa Airport Companion app. Independent of Etihad Guest tier status. Concierge service and valet parking at selected Abu Dhabi locations also included on the Visa Infinite chassis.
Eligibility
Minimum salary AED 30,000/month; salary transfer required; UAE residency required; salaried employment.

Watch out for

  • AED 2,625 joining fee in year one. The widely quoted AED 1,575 is the renewal fee, not the cost of getting in — the product page and the May 2026 KFS both carry the AED 2,625 joining fee, and no waiver is published for either figure.
  • Salary transfer is mandatory. Unlike the Inspire and the FAB Infinite, the Elevate requires committing your salary to ENBD — a banking decision that affects your salary-transfer-incentive eligibility elsewhere. Check the salary-transfer tracker before applying.
  • General spend earns less than the headline. The “up to 6 Miles per AED 10 on all other spends” line resolves to 3 per AED 10 on international and 2 on everything else — below the Inspire’s 4 and the FAB Infinite’s 3.5 base, and the FAB Infinite pays 6 per AED 10 on international spend.
  • 2 miles per AED 10 on general spend is roughly 0.2 miles per AED 1 — a flat cashback card pays back more on UAE in-store spend.
  • Tier Mile cap and from-flying floors. The 2.5 Tier Miles per AED 10 rate is uncapped within the card’s terms but still cannot fulfil the from-flying minimums each Etihad Guest tier requires — you cannot card-spend your way to status.
  • Etihad-loyal only. A Dubai-based Skywards flyer earns more per dirham on an ENBD or FAB Skywards co-brand.

Bottom line

The Elevate’s claim to this market is now twofold: the 200,000-mile welcome and the strongest Etihad-ecosystem earn of any UAE Etihad co-brand — 10 Etihad Guest Miles per AED 10 on Etihad airfare, hotels and dining. For an Abu Dhabi or northern-emirates resident who flies Etihad two or three times a year, spends in those categories, and is willing to transfer salary to ENBD, the welcome alone — AED 4,000 at the 2-fil baseline — clears the AED 2,625 joining fee with AED 1,375 to spare and funds a long-haul Business one-way at saver rate with headroom remaining.

If you’d rather keep your salary elsewhere, the FAB Etihad Guest Infinite earns 7 Miles per AED 10 on Etihad spend — below the Elevate’s 10 — but 6 per AED 10 on international, with no transfer requirement, an AED 2,625 fee every year (the Elevate drops to AED 1,575 at renewal) and a 110,000-Mile welcome running to 30 June 2026. At AED 12k–25k salary, the ENBD Inspire earns 7 per AED 10 on Etihad and a stronger 4 per AED 10 on everything else at an AED 735 renewal fee. Spend concentrated on Etihad, hotels and dining with ENBD banking in place: take the Elevate. Spend that’s mostly general or international: take a sibling.
