HSBC — New-to-Bank Welcome Cashback, salary-transfer legs (2026)

Last verified 6 Aug 2026
Salary band Reward Type Pays out
AED 10,000 – AED 39,999 AED 750 cash +5 months
AED 40,000 – no limit AED 2,000 cash +5 months

Requirements

  • New-to-bank customers only: anyone with an HSBC UAE relationship — including an inactive one — as of the offer start date is ineligible, as are joint holders opening a sole account, and HSBC staff.
  • Open the account during the offer period (2 January – 31 December 2026, both dates inclusive) and activate the HSBC UAE mobile app within 30 days of opening.
  • Transfer at least 2 eligible salaries within the first 3 months of account opening. Advance tier: AED 10,000 to 39,999/month pays AED 750. Premier tier: AED 40,000+/month (AED 30,000+ for Emirati nationals) pays AED 2,000.
  • Employees of companies on HSBC's Employee Workspace Solutions list get AED 1,000 instead of AED 750 on the Advance tier.
  • The T&C's eligibility FAQ contains one ambiguous line — 'Eligibility is based on salary credits and new HSBC customers transferring salary from other banks to HSBC will not be eligible' — which we read as requiring genuine employer salary credits rather than self-made transfers. Confirm with HSBC before relying on an edge case.

Real-world notes

  • Verified 6 August 2026 against HSBC’s New to Bank and Customer Relationship Offer T&C (PDF, read in full) and the Premier rewards-and-offers page (footnote 11). Both salary tiers above are the T&C’s own rows verbatim; dossier at .council/research/2026-08/salary-transfer-hsbc-adcb.md.
  • This is one campaign with two doors. The mass-market entry point is the Advance tier — two salaries of AED 10,000+ inside three months pays AED 750. The AED 2,000 headline needs a Premier-qualifying salary of AED 40,000 a month (AED 30,000 for Emirati nationals): a premium-segment offer, priced like one.
  • The same welcome offer also pays on money, not salary — AED 8,000 to 12,000 cashback for parking AED 500,000 to 2 million+ of new-to-bank funds. Those legs are funding-based, sit outside a salary-transfer tracker, and don’t stack with a same-tier salary reward; they’re noted here so the “up to AED 14,000” marketing headline reads correctly.
  • The 180-day rule is the real tenure. Formally you need two consecutive qualifying salaries inside three months; practically, an interrupted salary or a closed account inside 180 days of the first credit un-earns the reward. Treat it as a six-month commitment.
  • The quiet clause is real: the T&C forbids public comment about the offer without HSBC’s written consent, with clawback attached. We have not seen a UAE salary offer put that in writing before.
